Speaker: Tavepong Pratoomwong

Tavepong Pratoomwong is a street photographer who has received the highest awards in many international contests and exhibited in many institutions across Asia, North America and Europe.

Tavepong began taking photographs during his time at university and, after having graduated, had an article published by the National Geographic Thailand. Tavepong travelled to Varanasi, India, in 2013 through the support of his wife and subsequently began taking photographs more seriously. Once he returned to Thailand, Tavepong participated in the Street Photo Thailand group’s “365 days in 2014” challenge, which he completed and has continued to shoot photographs every day since.

Through his dedication, Tavepong has won the first prize in many international awards and competitions such as the Miami Street Photography Festival 2014, EyeEm Awards 2014 in Street Photography, and Street Shooting Around the World 2015 award by The Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP). He was also listed as 1 of 20 most influential street photographers in 2015 by the website streethunters.net, and the Winner of Street Photographers Foundation Awards 2025 (Single Image).

He remains an active member of the Street Photo Thailand group and is the first Asian member of the UP Photographers group, one of the world’s most recognized street photography groups.
