Photographer | Photography Coach | Travel & Astrophotography Mentor
Guek Peng Siong, fondly known as GPS, has nearly three decades of experience behind the camera. His photographic journey has taken him across a wide range of genres, from landscape, travel and street photography to portraits, weddings, events, sports and performance photography.
A passionate traveler and visual storyteller, GPS is particularly drawn to landscape and astrophotography, where he combines careful planning, technical knowledge and an instinct for finding compelling perspectives. His work has taken him to some of the world's most photogenic destinations, capturing everything from dramatic landscapes and night skies to the character and culture of the places he visits.
Beyond creating images, GPS is passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others become better photographers. His approach to teaching is practical and hands-on—rather than simply explaining camera settings and photographic theory, he encourages participants to understand why a photograph works, how to see light and composition, and how to find their own creative perspective.
His photography credentials include a Fellowship with SAFRA Photographic Club, an Associateship with The Royal Photographic Society (UK), and Fellowships with the Singapore Color Photo Society and Photographic Society of Malaysia. His experience also includes covering large-scale events, including the 27th SEA Games.
Today, GPS combines his experience as a photographer, photography coach and Singapore tourist guide to create personalized photography experiences and photo walks. Whether exploring Singapore's streets, photographing landscapes overseas or waiting beneath a dark sky for the Milky Way, his goal is simple: to help photographers see differently, shoot with confidence and come home with photographs they are proud of.
