Calling all bird photography and birding enthusiasts! Whether you’re a beginner, hobbyist or experienced photographer, everyone is welcome to join us at the Fraser’s Hill Bird Festival from 18–20 September 2026.

Get ready to explore the beauty of birdlife, challenge your photography and observation skills, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and stand a chance to win exciting prizes through two different challenges!

 

🐦 Bird Photo Race
Race to photograph as many different bird species as possible. Rankings will be based on the total number of verified species captured, with clear photographic proof required for every submission.

Registration fee: RM150 per team of three participants

The top five teams will win prizes worth a total of RM12,636. Every member of each winning team will receive a prize:

  • Sony camera and lens is available for loan but unit is limited. *First come first serve basis.

4.00pm – 5.00pm : Participant arrival, registration and T-shirt collection at Wyndham Garden Shahzan Fraser’s Hill
5.00pm – 5.30pm : Introduction by Sony Malaysia
5.30pm – 6.00pm : Basics of Bird Photography Sharing by Nur Ismail
6.00pm – 6.30pm : Camera Settings for Bird Photography by Nur Ismail
6.30pm – 7.00pm : Basic Bird Photography Editing by Nur Ismail
7.00pm – 8.00pm : Dinner (self-arranged)
8.00pm – 8.30pm : Sponsor Sharing Session
8.30pm – 9.00pm : Bird Photography Competition and Bird Photo Race Briefing
9.00pm – 9.30pm : Gear Loan Collection at the Main Hall
9.30pm : End of Day 1 – Rest

7.30am : Bird Photography Competition and Bird Photo Race Flag-Off
8.00am – 10.30am : Guided Bird Photography Walk with Sony Alpha Guru
12.00pm – 1.00pm : Gear Loan Return at the hotel lobby
1.00pm – 2.00pm : Lunch (self-arranged)
2.00pm – 3.00pm : Gear Loan Collection at the hotel lobby
7.00pm – 7.30pm : Gear Loan Return at the hotel lobby

7.30am : Bird Photo Race ends
8.00am – 9.00am : Bird Photo Race Submission at Wyndham Shahzan Fraser’s Hall
11.00am : Bird Photography Competition submission deadline and gear loan return at Wyndham Shahzan Fraser’s Hall
12.00pm – 1.30pm : Lunch (provided by the organiser)
1.30pm – 2.00pm : Participants gather at the hotel’s main hall
2.00pm – 3.30pm : Closing and Prize-Giving Ceremony
3.30pm : End of event and participants disperse
